Republicans won't be able to stop President Barack Obama's next choice for attorney general, says Ron Christie, a columnist for the Daily Beast and former member of Vice President Dick Cheney's staff.
"I just don't think the Republicans have the tactical, frankly, competence to stop this administration, be it in the lame-duck session or even before the Novembers elections," Christie said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.

"I sadly don't have any real faith that they actually can put a halt to whatever the administration wants to put forth."
Christie said the Democrats' enactment of the so-called "nuclear option" also played a part.
"The tradition of the Senate was to have a 60-vote majority for nominations, [and] the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid changed this in mid-stream. Now it's 51," he said.
When asked whether Republican lawmakers could stop the president's replacement for outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder by launching a filibuster, Christie, CEO of Christie Strategies, replied:
"That would require courage, that would require moral clarity, that would require actually standing up to the lawlessness of this administration."
