The United States is in the "era of the Kardashian view of politics" and that wreaks havoc on presidential candidates like Marco Rubio, former 2016 candidate and New York Gov. George Pataki told
Newsmax TV on Wednesday.
"The more outrageous, stupid things you say, the more press you get," Pataki, who dropped out of the nomination race last month, told "The Hard Line" host Ed Berliner. "You make an intelligent policy address like Sen. Rubio did on his reform of taxes to grow America's economy and it doesn't get any attention."

He called Trump's decision to boycott Thursday's debate on Fox News because of a dispute over co-moderator Megyn Kelly, narcissistic — adding that Trump's absence would provide an opportunity for the former Florida senator will "shine" in at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.
"I hope the American people pay attention and understand that government by soundbites, government by outrageous self-promotion is not what America needs," Pataki said. "We need a leader with a vision who can bring us together — and that's Marco Rubio."
