Media coverage of Israel is too often one-sided and wrongly criticizes Jews for simply defending themselves, says Abraham Foxman, the national director of the Anti-Defamation League.
"I would say they’re complicit in not providing the truth … They're only telling one side of the story," Foxman said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.

"I don't think they're motivated by anti-Semitism. But … what it does is legitimize if you establish time and time again it's the Israelis or Jews, the Jews kill Muslims.
"Every life is precious, especially the innocent children, but my God why is it when Muslims kill Muslims, when Muslims kill Christians, the world really doesn't care? But when Jews kill Muslims, all of a sudden it becomes big news."
Foxman said the media tabulate the number of children who are killed or hurt when Israel take defensive military action.
"They're counting children … Nobody's counting children in Syria, nobody's counting them in Libya, nobody's counting them in Iraq," he said.
Foxman believes the war in Gaza has given anti-Semites an excuse to spout their hatred.
"The Gaza war did not create anti-Semitism. It legitimized it, it gave it a platform, it gave it an excuse," he said.
"We've always said, bigots don't need the truth. Bigots create the truth or they use and abuse the truth.
"[Gaza] provided a platform for anti-Semites, not only criticize Israel, but death to the Jews, gas the Jews, attacking synagogues, taking off Kosher products from supermarkets."
Anti-Semitism also has a worldwide platform on the Internet, according to Foxman.
"There's a new world out there where anti-Semitism has a superhighway," he said.
