Congress should stay out of the Hillary Clinton email probe and let the FBI do its job, best-selling conservative author Ed Klein told Newsmax TV on Thursday.

"That's a terrible mistake," Klein told "Newsmax Now" hosts John Bachman and Miranda Khan.

He was referring to a probe announced this week by House Oversight Committee Chairman, Jason Chaffetz, a Utah Republican, and remarks Tuesday by his predecessor, Rep. Darrell Issa of California, that the FBI had "no choice" but to recommend an indictment of Clinton.

"For Chaffetz and Issa to get involved with this investigation into her emails is going to be stepping all over the FBI investigation," Klein told Newsmax TV.

Current FBI Director James Comey is heading up the probe, whom Klein called "the Eliot Ness, the untouchable of our time.

"Leave it to James Comey," Klein said. "He'll get it right."
