Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., told Newsmax TV on Tuesday he is still "feeling great" in his self-imposed quarantine after coming in contact with a person infected with the coronavirus at the Conservative Political Action Conference last month.
"I'm feeling great," Collins told "Newsmax Now" by phone, adding he is keeping to his "regular schedule," and secluded himself as a precaution.
He confirmed, although he was with President Donald Trump on Friday, he did not fly with him on Air Force One due to "a mix up in scheduling," adding he is not concerned Trump has been exposed to the virus.
Collins said, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "located here in Georgia," is "one of the best in the world," and noted, "the same group we're working with here stopped Ebola in its tracks."
"We want people to just look at what we're doing," he said, adding, "Wash your hands; don't go out if you think you're sick. If you are sick and show flu-like symptoms, go to the doctor and get tested. Anybody who needs to be tested, there is a test for them."
