National Review's upcoming issue of top conservatives bashing Donald Trump is "quite comical" and "obviously a Hail Mary pass," the Republican front-runner national campaign spokesperson told
Newsmax TV on Friday.
"This is supposedly these top conservatives out there," Katrina Pierson told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "Some who've actually proclaimed in the past to be raging liberals, but converted, but it seems no one else can do that these days."
Many of the conservatives featured in the issue have endorsed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in past state contests, Pierson said.
"I’m not quite sure why they haven’t gone out and endorsed him this time, instead of going after Mr. Trump. The line of attack is the same as Jeb Bush."

Pierson then pointed to Trump's "broad spectrum of support," which includes Republicans, Democrats, and independents.
"Why would they be going after the Republican front-runner, who looks like the only one that may be able to win a general election?" she asked. "What the answer is, they’re more concerned with the vocabulary that a Republican candidate uses, rather than the issues."
