Hillary Clinton's speech Thursday at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia "was a great speech, except for reality," political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax TV.
Morris is author of the new book "Armageddon: How Trump Can Beat Hillary" with Eileen McGann.
"She's got an incumbent government to carry around with her," Morris told host J.D. Hayworth on the "Newsmax TV DNC Convention Special" in an interview. "She has an incumbent administration to defend and protect. A record around her neck.
"But you're speaking in a country where 80 percent think the country is off on the wrong track, where nobody believes things are going well.
"For her to wrap herself so thoroughly in a campaign of promises, pledges and commitments without taking account of the failures of the current administration is difficult.
"It was a good speech, except for reality."
Morris' book "Armageddon: How Trump Can Beat Hillary" is available at bookstores and online at both Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
