Ted Cruz will eventually back Donald Trump if the developer becomes the nominee, political strategist Dick Morris told
Newsmax TV Tuesday.
"Yes," Morris responded when host Steve Malzberg asked whether the Texas senator would back the nominee. He was interviewed on "America Votes: 2016."
But Trump could be denied the nomination on the first ballot, Morris said.

"There is a way that Trump does not get a first-ballot nomination," he began. "I think he probably will.
"He may come 20 or 30 votes short. I don't think he'll have trouble getting that, but when you're running a 100-yard dash and the other guy is ahead of you and maybe even lapped you — you don't stop running at 70 yards.
"You go the distance."
