"I believe there were a lot of good questions that were asked of Ms. Richards," Black, a Tennessee Republican, told John Bachman and Miranda Khan on "Newsmax Now."
"There were things that were revealed that are going to be interesting to the public that maybe they perhaps didn't know about."
Richards appeared alone to respond to hostile questioning from Republicans, some of whom have vowed to shut down the U.S. government if federal support for the group is not cut off.
A series of videos that purports to show Planned Parenthood improperly sells fetal tissue to researchers for profit has reignited anti-abortion voters' fervor during the turbulent GOP presidential primary campaign.
"Obviously there are folks out there that support Planned Parenthood and the kinds of things they do. I would ask those people if I had a chance, did you actually see these videos?" Black said.
"Do you know truly what's going on behind closed doors or are you still believing the deception that all Planned Parenthood does is provide women's health?
"I would ask them that question and advise them to go ahead and take a look at those videos to see if they feel the same way after they've seen the videos."
Black is sponsor of a bill to defund Planned Parenthood until investigations into claims made on the videos are completed.
