Before news broke that former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was reconsidering entering the Democratic presidential primary, Bill O'Reilly told Newsmax TV a flawed field creates a need for a new candidate to enter the race.
"What matters is Bernie Sanders is through, he's finished, not a factor, doesn't matter how many votes he gets in Iowa or New Hampshire, he's not going to get the nomination," O'Reilly said Thursday on "Newsmax Now."
"It comes down to Biden vs. Warren."
But former Vice President Joe Biden has been diminished by reports of enriching his family during the Obama administration and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has exposed herself by an overzealous taxation plan to fund her social programs.
"I've told everybody I think Biden will be the nominee," O'Reilly told host John Bachman. "I still think he will be unless somebody else gets into the race."
Bloomberg had backed off his presidential campaign aspirations when Biden announced his intention to run, but recent news has damaged his candidacy, leaving a void, according to O'Reilly.
Bloomberg, a former Republican, just might be the centrist alternative to Biden against a tax-heavy candidate like Warren, who is also finished, O'Reilly said.
"Bill Gates, calling out Elizabeth Warren is pretty much the end of Miss Warren in liberal precincts," O'Reilly said. "She's just too far out there."
