Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank told
Newsmax TV Wednesday that America has taken an "ugly turn" because of Donald Trump, but he's been successful enough to nearly have the Republican presidential nomination in hand.
Milbank told "The Steve Malzberg Show" that Trump's campaign tactics have resulted in some "collateral damage," but they're working.
"I was just noting yesterday how we're just getting used to printing words in the Washington Post that we never did before, but that's because they're constantly coming out of the presidential campaign," Milbank said.
"A lot of that had to do with Donald Trump and you and I have been through before the various other ways I believe in which he has really made things take a rather ugly turn here in America, but you now, if you're just looking at the mechanics of it and how successful he's been there, you certainly can't argue with it."

The discussion also touched on the recent
New York Times story that accused Trump of being demeaning toward women, and former President Bill Clinton's sexual misconduct of the past.
Malzberg drew a comparison between the allegations against Trump and allegations against Hillary Clinton that she threatened women who accused her husband of sexual misconduct.
"You're just drawing parallels that don't exist," Milbank said. "I don't understand why you're holding Hillary Clinton accountable."
