Rep. Meuser to Newsmax: Failing Biden Still Won't Negotiate

By    |   Tuesday, 25 April 2023 10:56 AM EDT

President Joe Biden has done an "unbelievably bad job" since he's been in office, but now, instead of agreeing to negotiate on the nation's debt ceiling, he wants to stay the course, despite the "excellent plan" House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has presented, Rep. Dan Meuser told Newsmax Tuesday.

"It's about save, limit, and grow, and that's not a cliche," the Pennsylvania Republican said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America" about McCarthy's $1.5 trillion debt ceiling increase plan.

The plan, Meuser said, would cut back domestic and military spending to the levels in 2022, which is "not harsh, as that was just a year ago," cap growth annually to 1% growth, and push for energy dominance.

"This is a bit of a start," he said. "We've got a great plan."

Biden announced his reelection bid early Tuesday, but over the weekend, an NBC poll showed that 53% of the people who voted for him in 2020 are saying they don't want him to seek reelection.

"Well, you can't blame them," said Meuser. "Look from stem to stern, our national security, energy, the border, how horrendous that is, and it's all his doing. The economy, inflation, this is all caused by the Biden policies."

In addition, Biden has a "degenerate of a son" in Hunter Biden, "who's the ultimate patsy for all of [Joe Biden's] quite questionable actions around the world," said Meuser.

"What former vice president has millions of dollars coming in from Russia and China?" he said. "We've got the documents. We've got the White House visits. We've got the bank accounts. We've got the pictures."

Biden, he added, "is a troubled candidate and he must lose. It's critical for our nation."
