Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., says there needs to be an additional remedy for the coronavirus outside of a vaccine so people can get back to work.
“Something has to be a remedy here so that we can keep businesses, empower business to serve the public, to build things, to be part of the economy of the United States and not make the government make these individuals wards of the state and victims of the federal government,” Gosar said Thursday during an appearance on Newsmax TV’s “American Agenda.”
“If they’re going to provide a check to the individuals, we gotta provide some liability reform, we also have to provide some type of mechanism for businesses to stay whole and last but not least we have to make sure we have a conscientious approach to how we apply COVID restrictions to businesses,” he said in reference to another round of proposed stimulus checks in coronavirus relief aid.
“That means we have to start looking at some of these other therapeutics other than just the remedy of a vaccine, the antivirals, the steroids.”
Several states have restricted access to chloroquine prescriptions to avoid stockpiling of the drug. There are exemptions for clinical trials, though, and for patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
“These are things that can be worked with that allows people choice and allows business to go on as normal, but we have a number of governors that have forbidden the use of medications like hydroxychloroquine,” said Gosar.
