The lawyer representing the Tea Party Patriots and other groups that were targeted by the IRS says the media is "racist" in the various amounts of coverage it gives big news stories.
"The whole press corps has acted in a racist manner. They're racist because they don't expect the same kind of level of activity and responsibility and integrity of [the Obama] administration as they do of, say, [New Jersey Gov.] Chris Christie," Cleta Mitchell told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"The media's all over Chris Christie, and what about the same kind of scrutiny of the Obama administration in any one of a number of areas? What is the Chris Christie case about? Abuse of power, honest services fraud, well, those are the same things we're dealing with here at this IRS scandal is abuse of power."

Christie is embroiled in a controversy involving his top aides' orchestrating a traffic-clogging closure of lanes to the George Washington Bridge for political payback.
The IRS has been under scrutiny for targeting conservative groups seeking non-profit status.
Mitchell said that according to the FBI, high-ranking people in the IRS told Congress there was no targeting of conservative groups.
"In fact, we know now that that was a lie. And they knew it was a lie. What about perjury, lying to Congress?" Mitchell said.
"It's really quite frightening. People need to pay attention to what the IRS is doing because now they're emboldened. They think they can get away with it, but we're going to spend the rest of my natural life in court fighting this."
