Pro-life priest Fr. Frank Pavone hailed Tuesday's Supreme Court decision to strike down a California law on anti-abortion centers, saying it "boggles the mind" Christian-based facilities would be forced to tell clients about state-funded abortions.
"This is a great decision," the national director of "Priests For Life" told Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Now." "It means that pro-life people can't be discriminated against by the government and forced to say things they don't want to say."
"Imagine, groups that exist in order to lead people away from abortion being told by the state they must lead them toward abortion . . . it boggles the mind there would be such a requirement," he added.

Pavone said the California law "not only tells people to change the content of their speech, but it also unfairly focuses only on just those trying to prevent abortion."
"Are we really trying to say the state of California doesn't have the resources to let its services be known?" the priest asked. "They have to rely on us to do it?
"There's a difference between what's happening here — changing the content of one's speech to say something you don't believe in — versus telling a doctor you have to adequately inform your patient about what you are about to do for them," Pavone argued.
"These pregnancy centers are being told to say something not about what they are providing but what the state is providing . . . the court is saying 'Hey, state of California, you got your own way to tell [women about abortion services] that don't rely on these centers.'"
