Whether she wins the election or not, Hillary Clinton will receive a presidential pardon stemming from her email scandal, Rep. Blake Farenthold told Newsmax TV.
During an interview on "The Steve Malzberg Show" Monday, Farenthold said President Barack Obama will likely use his power to grant pardons on his former secretary of state before he leaves office next Jan. 20.

"I think win or lose there's a presidential pardon in her future," said the Texas Republican, a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the vice chairman of the Subcommittee on Information Technology.
"The historical precedent is set when Ford retroactively pardoned Nixon. I don't think that's good for our country, but I'm afraid it's what's going to happen."
Farenthold added that if Clinton does become president, he doubts she would follow the letter of the law and conduct business legally.
Clinton has been under fire for using a private email setup during her time in the Obama administration (2009-2013). After she was cleared by the FBI over the summer, FBI director James Comey said last Friday he is taking another look at the case because new evidence was discovered.
"I don't think she's going to be able to keep her hand out of the cookie jar even after a pardon," Farenthold said. "You can only pardon for things that have been done.
"You can't pardon for future crimes. There would be a lot of opportunities for her, win or lose."
White House spokesman Josh Earnest, Obama said Monday he doesn't believe Comey is trying to influence the Nov. 8 presidential election with the most recent Clinton news.
