Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw is receiving a hefty dose of karma after his controversial remarks about Hispanics, Bill O'Reilly told Newsmax TV.
In his "Talking Points Memo," O'Reilly argued that Brokaw — who came under fire after saying Hispanics need to do a better job assimilating to American culture — is being criticized by the very people and groups he has supported for his entire career.
"If you criticize any group, generally speaking, you are gonna be hammered because we live in an age where that is not permitted. That does not come under the Constitutional right of free speech. The one group you can criticize in a general sense are white men," O'Reilly said.

"You'll be applauded for saying that. But that's it. No other group. Maybe Catholics, but that's even dicey because a lot of Hispanic-Americans are Catholic."
Regarding Brokaw's remarks, O'Reilly said he disagrees with them.
"When Brokaw said that, I knew what he meant but I disagreed with it. I don't think there's a problem with assimilation in the Hispanic communities across the country," O'Reilly said.
"So then the left goes after Brokaw, who is a liberal guy. He's from South Dakota, he's assimilated quite nicely into the salons of Manhattan and Washington, D.C. But it's karma because the agency that he works for, NBC News, is the champion of PC. And they run a network, MSNBC, that is a totalitarian regime."
"So now he's getting hit from the PC crowd, which he championed. That is called karma."
