Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., told Newsmax TV on Thursday that conservatives telling people not to vote in the upcoming runoff election in his state is ''the most ridiculous thing'' he’s ever heard.
Loudermilk told ''John Bachman Now'' that ''the most ridiculous thing that I think I've ever heard is telling people to not go vote and just hand the whole system over to those that they’re accusing of cheating.''
When host John Bachman noted that many viewers have complained that Georgia’s Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler need to ''get vocal'' about the allegations of election fraud, he added that ''they have been vocal.''
He added, ''that's what I don’t understand, they have been huge supporters of the president [and] the president has been supporters of them. David Perdue, from the very beginning of Trump's presidency, was one of the first senators to come out and get on board with the Trump train.''
Loudermilk said, ''I don’t understand what they're saying … that they don't come out and earn this. Both of them have been big supporters of the president, both of them have been very critical of [Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger], in fact David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler were the two that came out and asked for his resignation because of the debacle of our election there. So, I think this is all about [Georgia attorney] Lin Wood and his popularity, it’s not about actually saving our republic.''
