Conservative DisHonors Awards Celebrate 15 Years

By    |   Wednesday, 24 September 2014 01:39 PM EDT

The Media Research Center is gearing up for its 15th annual presentation of the DisHonors Awards, which celebrate "outlandish" reporting by the liberal media, says Brent Bozell, the group's president.

"I just realized it's the 15th year that we've done this, so it's our 15-year anniversary," Bozell told Newsmax TV's "America's Forum" on Wednesday. "It's an awards ceremony where we give out awards for the most outrageous, sometimes stupidest, things that the liberal media have said in the past year."

The awards ceremony will be held Thursday, and will include "an awful lot of fun, a lot of noise, a lot of lights, a lot of laughter," Bozell said, adding that the ceremony gave conservatives the opportunity to "get even with the liberal press."

"We honor conservatives who have been harmed by the press, so that accepting the awards on behalf of the winners, we have someone who's normally been attacked by that person," he said.

Bozell said the group's recipient of the premiere award, the William F. Buckley Award for Media Excellence, would go this year to conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin.

Previous recipients included Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume and radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
