Antonio Sabàto Jr., the Italian-American heartthrob running for Congress, says he has been encouraged by the Supreme Court's striking of a law aimed at regulating anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers in California.
And Sabato Jr. told Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live" on Thursday he is praying the ruling helps lead to an eventual overturn of Roe vs. Wade, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision affirming a woman's right to have an abortion.
"I keep praying," Sabato Jr. said. "We've got to keep God first, and I think things are happening, some amazing stuff is happening in our country and we just have to stay focused.
"It is exciting times. I'm really pleased to be an American . . . I'm pro-life, I believe that we should save lives and keep beautiful lives on this planet and not take them away."

The Supreme Court on Tuesday struck down a California law requiring clinics that counsel women against abortion to notify clients of the availability of abortions paid for by the state. The high court said the law violated the free speech rights of these Christian-based facilities.
Sabato Jr. – a model and actor who appeared as Jagger Cates on TV's "General Hospital," and starred in the R-rated, 2001 horror flick "Shark Hunter" – is running for Congress as a Republican against incumbent Rep. Julia Brownley, D-Calif., in the 26th district.
