Journalist 'On Run' After Posing as Potential ISIS Bride

A French journalist going by the name Anna Erelle, to protect her true identity, is now "on the run" after posing as a Muslim convert online to learn more about how the Islamic State (ISIS) recruits young women.

Erelle told Newsmax TV's "Hard Line" on Wednesday she wrote her book "In the Skin of a Jihadist" as a warning to young women not to fall for the lure of ISIS.

"I did it for this because I thought that maybe some girls, some teenagers can relate and understand that the Islamic State is not about religion," Erelle said. "We are talking about people who are drunk with power. It's nothing about religion."

Teen girls should understand they will not be marrying a strong, powerful man if they become an ISIS bride in Syria, she said. "It's more like to enter hell than anything else."

Erelle set up a Facebook page where she pretended to be a 20-year-old Muslim convert and began following several ISIS members. It took just two days for Abu Bilel, a French ISIS member, to contact her, and just two more days before he asked her to marry him, she said.

"He asked me first if I was Muslim, if I wanted to go to Syria and what's my point of view about the Mujahideen in Syria," she said. "He actually didn't want to hear my answer. For him I had to come and that's it."

Erelle said she went to Amsterdam and told Bilel she would meet him at the Turkey-Syria border. He quickly became angry when she didn't follow through, and she returned to Paris.

Bilel and members of his family or ISIS still harass her, he said, and have threatened to kill her.
