While many Jewish Americans will support President Donald Trump because he is a strong advocate for Israel, others will vote for Democratic hopeful Joe Biden due to the president's perceived stances on abortion and other social issues, Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax TV.
"Jews, like Blacks and everybody else, are not uniform," Dershowitz told Tuesday's "The Chris Salcedo Show." "Many Jews will vote against Trump even though they support what he did on college campuses, because they regard the issues of abortion and gay rights and gun control as more important."
A recent Newsmax-Zogby poll showed American Jewish liked how Trump brokered the peace agreements in the Middle East, yet they still intend to vote for Biden in November.
"It's only gotten worse with the election of 'The Squad,'" Dershowitz told host Chris Salcedo. "Ilhan Omar is an out and out anti-Semite. AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.] recently refused to speak at a memorial for Yitzhak Rabin, a great peacemaker, basically saying that anything that is perceived as Zionist or pro-Israel is not going to be something that she is going to participate in."
"The people at the extreme left of the Democratic Party are becoming more and more bigoted," he continued. "And the mainstream Democrats are not doing enough to marginalize them.
"I'm remaining a Democrat because I want to have some influence on the Democratic Party. I want to see them remain bipartisan in support of Israel and Jewish values."
