Newsmax's Bachman Talks of Importance of Supporting Troopathon

Newsmax TV is partnering with Troopathon this year to help raise money for U.S. soldiers.

Newmax TV anchor and managing editor John Bachman was on "Elections Central with Rita Cosby" on WABC radio Sunday to promote the fundraiser, which since 2008 has raised more than $4.5 million to send care packages to our troops stationed overseas.

Bachman will be live on-site at Troopathon on Thursday, June 23 in Sacremento to help anchor the coverage.

The event will be carried in its entirety on Newsmax TV from 4 to 10 p.m. Cosby will co-host the event with talk show host and author Melanie Morgan.

Bachman said he is relishing the opportunity to put politics aside for this one day and focus on the important goal of supporting our troops.

He stressed that there is always more that an average citizen can do to show appreciation for those who make the sacrifice to defend the nation, and that each reminder of home that appears in the care packages mean a to the men and women serving overseas.
