President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani said Monday night the Russia investigation is not legitimate and, therefore, Trump is not obligated to answer any questions in a deposition.
Giuliani appeared on "Hannity" and reiterated his earlier point he likely will not allow Trump to be interviewed by anyone on special counsel Robert Mueller's team.
"It's highly unlikely," Giuliani said of a potential Trump-Mueller interview. "I always have to leave the option open as a lawyer in case they come across with something that really startles us or fills some of the things that we feel are important."
Giuliani then explained how he is meeting with some of the people who were on Trump's legal team when the federal investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia began in 2017.
"I believe we are coming toward the end, so I'm talking to some of the people that formed the original part of the investigation," he said.
Regarding Mueller's probe as a whole, Giuliani brushed it off.
"Given some of the revelations of the last three or four weeks, we've been driven further away from the idea of answering any questions from them. We don't think they have a legitimate investigation."
