Two Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students have been arrested for bringing weapons to school just a month after the Valentine's Day massacre that left 17 dead in Parkland, Florida.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office arrested an 18-year-old female and a 17-year-old male, both of whom brought knives to the school.

In the case of Jordan Salter, she brandished the knife during an argument with another student. Meanwhile, a 9-inch knife was found in the backpack of Gavin Stricker, leading to his arrest, according to the police report.

"It makes me sad because we just lost 17 of our family members and they're making the problem worse when we're trying to make everything better," Douglas student Angelina Lazo told CBS Miami.

The arrests come amid reports a deputy has been suspended by the Sheriff's office (BSO) after having been discovered asleep in his patrol car, and a third student has been placed under psychological evaluation for posting pictures on social media of a gun in his waistband under the gamer tag name of "NickCruz."

Nikolas Cruz is the confessed murderer of the 17 students and staffers just one month ago.

The arrests – and the suspension of BSO deputy Moises Carotti – have the school and the district back on edge.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott weighed in, offering assistance to secure every point of entry into MSD in a letter to Runcie and Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel.

"[Wednesday], my office heard from parents of students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, including parents who lost their children during the February attack," Scott wrote. "They are still concerned about student safety at the school. Recent events at the school have demonstrated the need for additional security measures to be implemented."
