A cookie-stealing squirrel on Friday lunged at upstate New York cops who were called in to capture him in a resident's kitchen.
The Brockport Police Department posted a video of the incident to its Facebook page with the following message:
"Officers Sime and Dawson arrived on scene but were not at all expecting the warm welcome they would receive from the squirrel. The squirrel was ultimately captured by officers and released without injury. The homeowner was very relieved that their uninvited guest was set free. Brockport Police will always go the extra mile to help their residents."
The video shows the officers entering the kitchen and can be heard asking a child to turn the radio down. The child suggests the squirrel did it.
As the officer turns toward a kitchen window, the squirrel lunges at him and then into a hallway.
