The Democrats' seek and destroy mission against President Donald Trump is "backfiring," hurting former Vice President Joe Biden, and allowed Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., rise to the primary lead, which is ultimately bad news for them in 2020, according to Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
"They have decided their only way to win in 2020 is to destroy the president," Sanders, the former White House press secretary, said Sunday during an appearance on "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y.
"They don't care who they hurt or who gets in the way of the process. This is a dangerous way for us to conduct politics. It's a dangerous way to engage an election.
"Frankly, it's backfiring on Democrats. What they've done in this whole Ukraine scandal is the same playbook they did with Russia. They spent two years trying to accuse the president of something, found out it wasn't real, and now they're looking for their next big thing to attack him on and this is what they've chosen."
Sanders told host John Catsimatidis it is "incredibly sad" that "Democrats have decided they hate this president more than they love this country," subjecting Biden to scrutiny to allow Warren to rise in the Democratic primary process.
"The only person who is been on a steady incline and continuing to gain momentum and gain support seems to be Elizabeth Warren," Sanders told Catsimatidis. "There couldn't be better news for President Trump. I think that she has moved so far to the left in the way that she wants to fix the country I think that it will certainly help re-elect the president."
If Warren somehow overcomes the remarked resiliency of President Trump, according to Sanders, it will be a "a scary thing for America" as it moves to the far left.
"Elizabeth Warren, I don't think she wants to come back to the middle," Sanders said. "I think she believes that the far left side is right. I think it's a scary thing for America if she became president."
