Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who owns a state-issued concealed-weapons permit, said Sunday such permits should be honored across state lines.
When Rubio made the statement about possessing the permit during an interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” host Bob Schieffer asked the Republican whether he carries a gun.
Rubio said he does not, primarily because he spends most of his time in Congress and airports.
He said obtaining a concealed-weapons permit in Florida requires a background check, and once the permit is issued, no three-day waiting period is required to purchase a gun.
“We should apply that nationally,” Rubio said.
