A longtime ally of President Donald Trump said this week he is writing a book about Trump's downfall as the Russia investigation drags on.
Roger Stone told Vanity Fair the book he is writing will be called "The Unmaking of the President."
"It's painfully obvious [FBI special counsel Robert] Mueller will bring charges," Stone said. "The theory is Mueller will indict him on some process-related matter. The only people who don't seem to know it are Ty Cobb, [John] Dowd, and the president."
Stone, the author of "The Making of the President 2016: How Donald Trump Orchestrated a Revolution," noted his goal is not to actually see his new book ever reach the print stage.
"I hope it's a book I don't have to publish," he said. "I just don't think Trump is being told the truth about how bad things are."
Stone was an adviser to Trump's presidential campaign and had a backchannel with WikiLeaks to obtain any damaging information on Democrat Hillary Clinton.
