GOP Rep. King: FBI's Mueller Has Some Explaining to Do, Too
(Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures")

Russia investigation special counsel Robert Mueller should explain to Congress why the FBI did not sound an alarm about an Obama-era uranium deal with a Russian company, according to Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.

The 2009 deal, which allowed a Russian state-controlled company to buy Uranium One, a firm that controlled 20 percent of U.S. uranium reserves, was approved by nine federal agencies, including the State Department when it was headed by Hillary Clinton, the Washington Examiner noted.

Mueller was FBI director at the time of the deal.

"Bob Mueller should come forward to the Congress and explain how he's going to addresses [the deal] because it's not only a question whether or not the Clintons, what involvement they had with uranium, but it's also the fact he was head of the FBI at a time we've been told an investigation is being conducted by the FBI as to bribery and collusion involving the Russians and yet, this was approved the Cabinet and the treasury secretary, secretary of state and the president," King told Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures."

"Did the FBI notify the administration, the Obama administration at the time, this investigation was ongoing and all of the allegations are being made and, if so what was done. And if they didn't, why not?"

King's call came as President Donald Trump demanded action from Congress on the controversial deal as well.
