FBI special counsel Robert Mueller interviewed President Donald Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon on multiple occasions this week, NBC News reports.
Two sources told NBC on Thursday that Bannon has spent a total of 20 hours this week talking to Mueller as part of the investigation into Russian election interference. Bannon also met with the House Intelligence Committee this week, though this interview was halted after he refused to answer several questions about the Russia probe, only agreeing to answer the 25 yes-or-no questions provided by the White House.
"The only questions he would answer were questions that had been scripted, literally scripted for him by the White House," Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the committee's ranking Democrat told reporters after the meeting, according to NBC.
"Whenever we sought to probe anything beyond the four corners of the specific wording of the question, he refused to answer. That's not how executive privilege works."
