The Republican National Committee on Thursday said it raised $14.6 million in May, a report that comes as President Donald Trump hauled in $24.8 million within the first 24 hours of launching his re-election campaign, the Independent Journal reports.
“Americans everywhere recognize that President Trump has kept the promises he made on the campaign trail, and they are ready for four more years of his winning agenda,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement.
“Another record-breaking fundraising month allows the RNC to continue to invest in our world-class, permanent, data-driven field program, putting us in prime position to get more Republicans in office and re-elect President Trump in 2020.”
The committee said it also took in $76.4 million through May and has no debt.
The Democratic National Committee has yet to announce its fundraising numbers.
Trump’s $24.8 million was higher than the 24-hour fundraising totals announced by some of his Democratic rivals, including former Vice President Joe Biden’s $6.3 million, former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke’s $6.1 million and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ $5.9 million.
Trump kicked off his re-election campaign Tuesday night during a rally in Orlando.
Under McDaniel in her first 29 months, the party has raised $401.2 million.
