The Republican National Committee raised a record-breaking $14.2 million in July, giving the organization more than a $100 million edge over its Democratic counterparts, the Washington Examiner reports.
The July haul is the most ever raised by the RNC in any month in a non-presidential election year, and it eclipsed the amount raised in 2010 and 2014 combined for the month, the Examiner reports.
More important, the RNC has a war chest of more than $227 million, more than double the DNC's haul of $109 million as of June 30, the Examiner reports.
"We've built the biggest field program we've ever had to defend our majorities in the House and Senate. History might be against us, but we're making sure every voter knows we're the party of results. All the Democrats have is resistance," RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement.
