A majority of Republican voters want lawmakers to continue working on repealing and replacing Obamacare, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll released on Wednesday.

The results among Republican voters:

  • Continue efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare: 67 percent.
  • Republicans should move on to other issues: 21 percent.
  • GOP should work with Democrats: 54 percent.
  • Work only with Republicans: 39 percent.

Among all voters, regardless of party affiliation:

  • Republicans should move on to other issues: 47 percent.
  • Continue efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare: 40 percent.
  • Don't know/no opinion: 13 percent.

Forty percent of voters approve of the GOP's healthcare bill, while 47 percent disapprove.

Breaking down that result, those who approved were evenly split — at 20 percent — between strongly approving of the bill and somewhat approving.

Among those who said they disapproved, more strongly rejected the bill:

  • Strongly disapprove: 34 percent.
  • Somewhat disapprove: 13 percent.

The Politico poll was conducted from July 7-9 among 1,983 registered voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent.
