President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to one of its lowest points in any poll in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey released Sunday.
The poll found that only 29 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s ousting the head of the FBI. Another 38 percent disapprove of the decision. If there's any silver lining it's that 32 percent of respondents did not have an opinion of Comey’s removal.
Among respondents who said they had heard “a lot” of information about Comey’s firing, 53 percent disapproved while just 33 percent approved of the decision.
The split once again is along party lines. Some 58 percent of Republicans approve of the decision while 66 percent of Democrats disapprove.
Among independents, 21 percent approve of the change, while 36 percent disapprove.
Trump's job approval rating dropped just one point from the same poll last month, down to 39 percent, but within the margin of error.
The NBC/WSJ poll was conducted May 11 to 13 among 800 adults. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
