Peter King: We Need Better Surveillance of Terror Suspects

By    |   Wednesday, 22 October 2014 10:07 PM EDT

The United States and its allies need to place greater surveillance on people suspected of terrorism, Rep. Peter King told Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File" on Wednesday.

"We have to be more aggressive," King said after the shooting death of a Canadian soldier near the Parliament building in Ottawa. It was the second killing of a Canadian soldier in two days.

On Monday, a convert to Islam ran over two soldiers with his car in Quebec, killing one. That suspect had been on a watch list and his passport had been revoked. The suspect in Wednesday's shooting also was a convert to Islam. Both suspects were killed.

"The fact that the Canadians were aware of at least one of these terrorists, to me, shows that we have to have greater surveillance," King said.
