In an in-depth interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Paris Jackson said she still believed strongly that her father Michael Jackson was murdered.
The 18-year-old, who lost her father to a drug overdose when she was 11, opened up to Rolling Stone about the impact of his death on her life and her firm belief that more was at play than a doctor’s negligence.
Paris does blame Dr. Conrad Murray for her father’s death, calling him “doctor” with air quotes, Rolling Stone reported. But she also suspects that something or someone else could be behind his death. Michael would hint that people were out to get him, Paris told Rolling Stone, and one time he said to her, “They’re going to kill me one day,” she said.
Michael was worth an estimated $1 billion when he died, and his money went into a trust fund that is doled out in stages to his children Prince, Paris, and Blanket, according to Rolling Stone. Ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley said that Michael also mentioned fears about being targeted for his money to her.
Paris said it was “obvious” that her dad was murdered and that her family members know as well, Rolling Stone reported. Paris said she wants to get revenge or justice eventually, but sees it as a chess game. “I am trying to play the chess game the right way. And that’s all I can say about that right now,” she told Rolling Stone.
Paris said she loved her father and that he was a good parent who spent time with her and loved her. She has always defended him against any criticism of his parenting methods and maintains his innocence of molestation charges for which he was acquitted in 2005.
