Murdoch: Romney Needs to Shore Up Campaign with Specifics

Tuesday, 11 September 2012 11:35 AM EDT

News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch says on Twitter that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney isn’t doing what it takes to win the election, and he has specific recommendations as to what he should do.

Murdoch dispensed his advice in separate tweets Tuesday.

“Election: Romney must draw clear line: offer specific path to restore American dream versus ugly Obama class war with jobs disappearing,” read one.

“Election: To win Romney must open big tent to sympathetic families. Stop fearing far right which has nowhere else to go. Otherwise no hope,” read another.

Murdoch also offered his take on the parties’ conventions. “Retrospect; Conventions mixed, but net big win for democrats. Michelle O and Clinton the big stars. Bill brilliant, Hillary away until 016.”

And the media titan provided a combo tweet on the jobs market and Chicago teacher strike. “As Clinton said, three million jobs available, no skilled to fill. Three cheers for Rahm Emanuel standing up in Chicago.”

Murdoch hasn’t been afraid to criticize Romney throughout the election campaign this year. In July, he said the GOP candidate would have a tough time beating President Barack Obama without an overhaul of his campaign staff.
