Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn will have to wait at least another two months to find out his sentence for lying to the FBI as part of the Russia probe.
According to CNN, prosecutors on special counsel Robert Mueller's team and attorneys for Flynn said in court Tuesday that the case is not yet ready to be resolved.
"Due to the status of the special counsel's investigation, the parties do not believe that this matter is ready to be scheduled for a sentencing hearing at this time," they said, CNN reported.
The lawyers told the federal court in Washington, D.C., they would have an update on the status of Flynn's sentencing by June 29.
Flynn pleaded guilty in December for lying to the FBI about his communications with the Russian ambassador that dated back to 2016 after President Donald Trump won the election.
Flynn briefly served as Trump's national security adviser in the White House before he was fired Feb. 13, 2017 after it was determined he was not forthcoming about his interactions with the Russian ambassador.
Mueller's team is investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. No evidence that points to that has been made public, although the probe has resulted in five indictments. More than a dozen Russians were also indicted on charges they tried to interfere in the U.S. election.
