Secret Service agents are like "glorified mall cops," Meghan McCain railed Thursday in a withering blast of the beleaguered law-enforcement agency following a series of security foul-ups.
The 29-year-old author and TV personality – the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain of Arizona – rattled off the reasons for her utter disdain on Pivot’s "TakePart Live." A video was posted on
The Hill.

"One of my friends called them glorified mall cops and I don't think that's terribly far off," she said. "I found them cliquey, I hated all of them, I had really bad experiences, and I think there's a cultural problem with the Secret Service."
McCain, who was
code-named Peter Sellers by the Secret Service when her father ran for president in 2008, argued the way to turn things around would be to hire agents with the right kind of background.
"I think somebody with some combat training, some Navy SEAL-type people …" she said. "I'm sure they're some good ones out there. My personal experience just wasn't that."
It's not the first time the outspoken political pundit has laid into the Secret Service.
In a
2010 interview with Politico, she bluntly asserted "you kind of have to kiss their" behinds, complaining about her own Secret Service team.
"They’re supposed to be hot," she told Politico. "They are not hot, just for the record. … It’s a total lie. ... They are bald and old and cranky."
More recently, McCain told Larry King on PoliticKING last May that when she was guarded by the Secret Service she found them to be gossipy and voyeuristic.

McCain's latest blast came a day after Secret Service Director
Julia Piersolaw resigned in the wake of a series of security lapses.
