NASA's rover Curiosity has found something on Mars, and the space agency will have a press conference Thursday to reveal something special, it said in a statement on its website.

"The media and public are invited to ask questions during a live discussion at 2 p.m. ET Thursday, June 7, on new science results from NASA's Mars Curiosity rover," NASA said. "The results are embargoed by the journal Science until then."

The event will be streamed on NASA's YouTube page, Facebook Live, Twitch TV, Ustream, and Twitter's Periscope platform.

The live panel discussion will feature appearances from several big-name scientists, including Paul Mahaffy, director of the Solar System Exploration Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Jen Eigenbrode, research scientist at Goddard, Chris Webster, from NASA's Pasadena-based Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), and Ashwin Vasavada, Mars Science Laboratory project scientist.

The Curiosity rover has been on the Red Planet since it landed there in August 2012 and started drilling into the surface in October 2016 to study the planet's mineral chemistry.
