Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway slammed members of the media Monday for talk of an economic recession, insisting the economy under President Donald Trump is as strong as ever.

"It's nice to have the mainstream media finally covering the economy, but they only cover it when they can use Sesame Street's Grover word of the day: 'recession,'" Conway told Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

"More people are working now than ever before in American history. More people are off the sidelines back into the workforce and those wages are up, particularly among blue-collar workers. A lot of the trade deals the president has renegotiated, continues to negotiate in a bilateral, reciprocal, more fairway to American workers and American interests and America are happening and also the optimism is there."

Her comments came after show co-host Ainsley Earhardt earlier in the morning laid the blame for the growing talk of an economic recession on the media's attitude against Trump.

"They do not want him to win again and they don't like that the economy is doing well, apparently," Earhardt said.

Meanwhile, healthcare is eating up household budgets because "Obama-Biden Care left 28 million-plus Americans with no health insurance," said Conway, noting Trump has a "major plan" to fix healthcare, including doing away with surprise medical billing.

Conway also spoke out about the Israeli government's decision to block Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., from entering the country.

"Why didn't they join the delegation?" she said. "They want to be two of two gobbling up media attention. They don't want to be two of 80. There is another reason. They are anti-Israel. They were coordinating their trips with vicious anti-Semites."
