George Conway, whose wife Kellyanne Conway, serves as White House counselor, defended Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., after she was criticized for her remarks concerning the late Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
Klobuchar, who is running for president, mentioned McCain in a campaign speech in Iowa. Klobuchar recalled listening to him recite the names of dictators after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
However, McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain, asked Klobuchar to leave him out of any presidential politics.
But George Conway tweeted: “Sen. Klobuchar was perfectly respectful, and the anecdote she told redounded to the late Senator’s credit. His legacy belongs to the nation he devoted his life to serving.”
