'Frasier' Dad John Mahoney Dies at 77

"Frasier" star John Mahoney died Sunday in Chicago, according to TMZ.

Mahoney, 77, played Kelsey Grammer’s father Martin Crane on "Frasier" for 11 seasons and won a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2000. He was also nominated for two Golden Globe Awards and two Emmy Awards for his role on the show.

The British-born actor appeared in about 30 movies and also worked as a voice actor and performed on Broadway. Most recently he played Betty White’s love interest in "Hot in Cleveland."
