Republican pollster Frank Luntz is denying Omarosa Manigault Newman's claim that she heard President Donald Trump use the "N-word," saying she didn't contact him to verify what she wrote about him in her new book.
"I'm in @Omarosa's book on page 149," Luntz tweeted. "She claims to have heard from someone who heard from me that I heard Trump use the N-word. Not only is this flat-out false (I’ve never heard such a thing), but Omarosa didn't even make an effort to call or email me to verify. Very shoddy work."
Manigault Newman, who came to fame on Trump's reality show "The Apprentice" years ago before going to work in his administration, is set to release her expose, "Unhinged," on August 14. She wrote the book after Trump fired her.
She responded to Luntz to defend the claim she made in her book, tweeting to Luntz that she wrote about a conference call with then-Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson, who "shared with us (@JasonMillerinDC and @LynnePatton) that you had info about n-word tape. I'm sure Kat will fill you in on that convo if you ask her nicely."
She also told NPR this week that she heard Trump using the N-word herself, notes The Hill.
The White House has rebuked Manigault Newman's book, with Press Secretary Sarah Sanders calling it "riddled with lies and false accusations."
