A U.S. judge on Wednesday extended Florida's voter registration deadline by six days following the damage caused by Hurricane Matthew, according to court records.

U.S. District Judge Mark Walker in Tallahassee gave voters until Oct. 18 to register to vote for the Nov. 8 general election, after the Florida Democratic Party filed a lawsuit seeking more time. The original deadline had been Tuesday.
