Democratic National Committee officials will hold a lottery Friday at NBC headquarters in New York to determine who will be on the stage in the first debate in Miami later this month, according to reports.
DNC staffers told campaign representatives last week of the plan to hold the lottery at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, The Hill reports, citing "three sources with knowledge" of the logistics call.
Results will be announced immediately after the drawing.
The debates will be held June 26-27 in Miami — hosted by NBC News, MSNBC and Telemundo — and at least 14 candidates have met the polling and donor criteria. Six others have only met the polling threshold.
Twenty spots are available on the stage of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
