Rep. Debbie Lesko, R-Ariz., would not be surprised to see House Democrats push for another impeachment proceeding as soon as he is acquitted by the Senate on Wednesday, she told Newsmax TV.
"They already supported impeachment before the Ukrainian call, and so they've been looking for anything and everything to impeach the president," Lesko, one of the House's members of President Donald Trump's impeachment team, told "Newsmax Now" host John Bachman. "It would not surprise me one single bit that after President Trump is acquitted [Wednesday], the House will start all over again."
Lesko added, the House had the burden of proof to prove its case, but "didn't even come close."
She also felt, House impeachment team manager Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-NY, were "kind of scolding the senators," and that did not go over well.
"I hope the American people see this for what it is," she said.
Lesko also commented on the Iowa vote count debacle from the Monday night, labeling it as a "total disaster."
"I was just like, 'I'm going to bed, and see if there's any results in the morning,'" she commented. "And then we still don't have, what do we have 62% of the vote."
Lesko added, she will be listening closely to President Donald Trump's State of the Union address, to see if he takes a bit of "a jab at the Democrats," and her guess is that he will, if "just a little."
