Federal prosecutors took the rare step Thursday of announcing they don’t plan to file corruption charges against New York Mayor Bill De Blasio or any of his aides related to pay-for-play allegations.

"We do not intend to bring federal criminal charges against the mayor or those acting on his behalf relating to the fundraising efforts in question," acting U.S. Attorney Joon Kim said in a statement.
