Kevin Sorbo to Newsmax: New Book About Letting Kids Be Kids

By    |   Tuesday, 12 September 2023 07:09 PM EDT

Pushing against the narratives from the powers that be, "Hercules" actor Kevin Sorbo joined Newsmax on Tuesday to discuss his new book "The Test of Lionhood."

Speaking with "American Agenda," Sorbo said that in today's culture, there's an apprehension to expressing gender norms such as boys expressing masculinity or girls femininity.

The book, Sorbo says, is really about letting boys be boys.

"We live in such a crazy world right now — and let girls be girls. Let them get old enough to decide where they want to go, and what they want to do with their lives. Don't sit there and tell the third grader, 'you can be this or that.' Just let them be kids; let them grow up on their own and do their own thing. Doesn't bash anybody."

According to Sorbo's publisher Brave Books, "'The Test of Lionhood,' follows along as Lucas's sister, Chloe, gets poisoned by the night-scorch thorns. It's all up to Lucas to save the day. Many obstacles stand in his path, but when a legendary lion shows up, Lucas's world changes."
